MALEREI | FRANK HUTTER
May 8 – June 19, 2026
On view Monday – Friday, 10am-5pm by appointment only
447 Space presents MALEREI, a selection of recent works by Frank Hutter that engage with painting both as a material practice and as an exploration of space. Hutter primarily works with oil on canvas as well as oil stick on paper, investigating the conditions and possibilities of painterly means such as color, surface, and line within a reduced yet open visual language. The use of oil stick on paper introduces a more immediate and direct mode of working, in contrast to the slower, more accumulative processes visible in the oil paintings on canvas. Together, these groups of works establish a dialogue between control and contingency, density and openness, precision and gesture. Read more here.
